Biomarker Profiling for Early Cancer Detection
Keywords:
Characterization, novel biomarkers, early diagnosis of cancerAbstract
Early detection of malignant neoplasms remains a key factor for successful treatment and patient survival. The aim of this study was to identify and characterize novel circulating biomarkers to improve the accuracy of primary cancer detection. Biological fluid samples from patients with early-stage cancer and a control group were included in the study. The methodological suite encompassed high-performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry , and cell-free nucleic acid analysis by droplet polymerase chain reaction. The study identified a panel of specific molecular markers, including microRNAs and proteins, whose levels change significantly even in the early stages of malignancy. The high sensitivity and specificity of this panel were demonstrated compared to standard tumor markers. The conclusion underscores that the implementation of the identified biomarkers in clinical practice will allow for the effective detection of at-risk groups. This enables the detection of the tumor process before the onset of the first clinical symptoms and increases the likelihood of successful radical treatment
