Abstract

Currently, acute poisoning with neurotropic substances accounts for 54-75% of all exogenous intoxications, of which up to 25% are severe and extremely severe, leading to critical conditions and requiring intensive care. The widespread prevalence of acute poisoning includes the uncontrolled use of various medications at home, suicide attempts, and the use of narcotics for intoxication. The severity of the condition of patients with acute, severe poisoning with neurotropic agents is due to significant dysfunction of various organs and body systems due to the specific action of xenobiotics, as well as developing hypoxia, leading to life-threatening complications. The literature contains reports of widely used diagnostic algorithms for systemic inflammatory response syndrome in patients in intensive care, medical, and surgical settings; however, their application in clinical toxicology has not yet been considered or studied. The aim of this study was to determine the role of systemic inflammatory response syndrome in the pathogenesis of severe acute poisoning with neurotropic substances and to evaluate the possibility of its pharmacological correction to improve the effectiveness of detoxification therapy. New data were obtained on the development of systemic inflammatory response syndrome and its role in the pathogenesis of severe acute poisoning with neurotropic substances. It was established for the first time that systemic inflammatory response syndrome in acute poisoning with neuroleptics and opioid-type narcotics occurs at the time of patient admission to the hospital. The clinical efficacy of using a synthetic inhibitor of para-aminomethylbenzoic acid proteolysis in the complex treatment of these acute poisonings was demonstrated.
